Dr. D. Wain Allen is a graduate of George Washington University and has been in medical practice since 1984. During that time, he has helped local high schools by teaching science classes when they didn’t have a teacher.
Born and raised in Fairfield, Montana, Dr. Allen has been married to his wife Rebecca for 42+ years. They are the proud parents of four children and five granddaughters.
Dr. Allen is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He provides care to patients at the Rocky Mountain Care Center, a nursing home in Heber, where he serves as Medical Director. He also serves as the Medical Director for Encompass Home Care and Hospice, an agency that provides care in Summit and Wasatch counties. He has been active in both state and national Family Medicine affairs. He is the past-president of the Utah Academy of Family Physicians and is the current Chief Medical Officer of the new Park City Medical Center. He is a retired LTC in the United States Army Reserve, having served both in the United States and abroad during his career as an Army Physician. He has also spent many years serving as the medical doctor for the U.S. Nordic Olympic Ski team.
Outside of his professional career, Dr. Allen is a loyal University of Utah sports fan. In addition, he has served youth through community service, teaching high school science courses and guiding the development of their moral compass. Dr. Allen is fluent in the German language and his clean sense of humor is unmatched. People of all ages simply love being in his presence.
